Description

Tucked into Cleveland Park, the former estate of philanthropist James Parmelee was planned by landscape architect Charles A. Platt and Ellen Biddle Shipman. The layout blends formal architectural elements with a picturesque English landscape style, leading past a restored formal pond and through a diverse urban forest that shelters local wildlife.
