Run by the Society for the Preservation of Carter Railroad Resources, the museum focuses on local preservation centered around the Carter Brothers railcar shops and a re-creation of the South Pacific Coast railroad. The collection features restored historic railroad equipment set within Ardenwood Historic Farm, which is operated and managed by the East Bay Regional Park District.
