Description

A paved, hilly path winds past outdoor enclosures housing permanently injured native wildlife, including bald eagles, porcupines, and black bears. Along the walk, four stone outposts branch into distinct subjects: live regional reptiles, amphibians, and fish in one, Hudson Highlands geology and early iron mining in another, and historic taxidermy in the Nature Study building. The largest hall explores indigenous life, colonial settlements, and Revolutionary War relics beside the site of Fort Clinton's west redoubt.
