Tour Manhattan’s Last Dutch Colonial Farmhouse and Its Hessian Hut

Explore the stories of the Lenape, soldiers, and free and enslaved African people at a Broadway homestead.

Step inside the farmhouse.

🏡 Beyond the Dyckman Family

Broadway has a farmhouse, and you can walk through its rooms. At Dyckman Farmhouse Museum, 4881 Broadway becomes a stop for Dutch colonial history in Northern Manhattan. Take the self guided tour through the historic interior, then step outside for the garden and rebuilt Hessian hut. There are porches for a pause and picnic benches in the backyard.

The story stretches beyond the Dyckman family. The museum researches and presents the lives of the Lenape, Revolutionary War soldiers, and the free and enslaved African people who built and maintained the property. Give those histories your attention as you move through this preserved homestead.

Entry costs 3 dollars for general admission, with free entry for Uptown and Bronx residents. Opening hours are Wednesday through Friday from noon to 4 PM and Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM, closed Sunday through Tuesday. Holiday closures also apply.
