Tony and Catalina Gonzales opened the restaurant right after World War II inside Tony's parents' home, initially running it as a weekend-only spot seating just 26 people with Catalina cooking and Tony serving. Over the decades, that compact venture expanded into an enduring gathering place, anchored by generous portions, house salsa, and exceptional margaritas that keep generations of locals returning.
