Description

Established in 1953 as the main U.S. branch of the renowned Nara temple, this Buddhist site functions as an active community anchor in Honolulu. The calendar centers around cultural gatherings like the annual Obon dance—celebrated on the grounds as Megabon—which pairs traditional observance with neighborhood festivities. Alongside its spiritual ceremonies, the property includes a dedicated event space and is currently developing a traditional tea house on site.
