Description

Multi-Grammy-winning drummer Marcus Gilmore brings his rhythm-expanding style to Harlem alongside bassist Ryoma Takenaga. Gilmore, also a composer, producer, and educator, counts a 2018–2019 Rolex Arts Initiative protege stint among his honors. Takenaga, a New York-born bassist, started on piano at five, switched to upright bass at nine, and studied under Christian McBride at Jazz House Kids — a formative step in his jazz path.
