Through the Front Doors of South Beach's Art Deco Hotels
A small-group walk through South Beach's Art Deco district that steps inside historic hotels along the way.
The Art Deco hotels of South Beach are easy to admire from the sidewalk. This small-group walk keeps stepping inside them, along Ocean Drive and the blocks behind it, and ends back near where it started.

One booking covers up to six travelers, and every booking needs an adult on it. Cancel at least 24 hours before the start for a full refund.

The booking promises access to the interiors of historic hotels and other landmark buildings where large groups are not allowed. In practice that means lobbies and hallways. The operator's own page describes stepping into historic Art Deco hotels to look at their lobbies and hallways, and says it keeps a group to fifteen or fewer. Several travelers describe parties of two to four, and two travelers say the small group is what got them inside. One wrote in February 2026 that when they asked what was original in a hotel, the guide "pointed out what was original and what was a reproduction."
The listing also heads up to the rooftop of an Art Deco hotel for a view over South Beach and the ocean, and inside a 1927 building at 10th Street and Washington Avenue. That building is The Wolfsonian, built as a warehouse for the Washington Storage Company and now a museum that charges admission and closes on Mondays and Tuesdays. The operator says none of its tours include a stop that needs a paid ticket. Expect a look inside the building rather than a gallery visit, and on a Monday or Tuesday the museum is shut.
Where Versace Lived and Where the Movies Filmed

The former Versace Mansion on Ocean Drive is one of the stops. The listing builds it around how Miami Vice and Gianni Versace helped bring South Beach back to its old glamour, with stories of celebrities, lavish parties and a murder.
Another stop pairs hotel interiors with movie locations. The listing names The Birdcage, There's Something About Mary, Any Given Sunday, Scarface and Frank Sinatra's A Hole in the Head. The route also goes inside a retro railway dining car that appeared on television, past the Rainbow Crosswalk and a gay bar known for its drag shows, and into rooms where, the listing says, Al Capone ran nightly gambling.
The operator says the stops and their order can change with weather, holidays and each place's opening hours.
Why the Booking Says 150 Minutes
The operator's own page calls this a two-hour walk, and its FAQ puts its tours at 1.5 to 2 hours. The booking sells it as 150 minutes, and that is closer to what travelers report. Several describe two and a half hours, and one wrote in December 2025 that "the two hour tour lasted 2 3/4 hours." Keep plans for the early afternoon loose.
The distance is short, a little under a mile by the operator's count, so the time goes on stops and stories. From May to October the operator warns that most of it is outdoors in the heat, recommends a hat, water and sunscreen, and says the guide ducks into buildings and shade where it can.
Who Can Book, and When a Walk Won't Run
One person can book, but the operator's FAQ says a walk needs at least two people to go ahead. The listing lets the operator cancel when too few travelers sign up, and the operator says it offers a new date or a refund when it calls a tour off. The operator also asks parties of more than ten to arrange a private tour.
On this listing anyone seven or older books as an adult, and a child six or under is charged the same rate as an adult. The operator wants anyone 18 or younger to come with a parent or legal guardian.
The listing ticks wheelchair access, stroller access and suitability for all fitness levels. The operator's own pages say nothing about access, and the route includes historic interiors and a hotel rooftop. If you need step-free access, say so in the special requirements box when you book, and use the free cancellation window if the answer does not work for you.
📍 Meet in the lobby of the Moxy Miami South Beach at 915 Washington Avenue, 15 minutes before the 10:00 AM start, and look for a guide in a powder-blue baseball cap. Latecomers cannot join a walk once it has started. The operator advises against driving and suggests a rideshare, taxi or public transport. If you do drive, it points to public parking at 1000 Washington Avenue and a garage at 210 7th Street. Walks run rain or shine unless extreme weather or another safety issue forces a cancellation.
The walk finishes at or near the Moxy, a short walk from Ocean Drive, and the guide suggests places for lunch nearby.
