Three Small Sonoma Wineries, Chosen by Where You're Staying

A day across Sonoma County wine country, with the three wineries set by which valley your pickup address falls in.

Plan a three-winery Sonoma day with pickup.

Most of the wine-country day tours out of Santa Rosa hand you a fixed list of three wineries before you book. This one hands you a pool. The operator describes it in public replies as over twenty wineries, and the three you actually visit are assembled once it knows where you are staying.

Staying in the town of Sonoma puts you on the operator's Sonoma Valley itinerary; other pickups have landed in Dry Creek Valley. You learn the shape of your own day the evening before, when the pickup time arrives by text or email.

There is one option to book and it carries the pickup. Everyone aboard has to be twenty-one or over, and there is no child or youth fare in the system at all. A single booking takes up to twelve travellers.

The Three Names Change; the Shape Does Not

Travellers who wrote about this trip between 2021 and 2026 name Loxton Cellars, St. Anne's Crossing, Ty Caton, Muscardini Cellars, Deerfield, DRNK and Merriam. Three of those accounts list a complete set of three wineries, and all three sets are different.

What repeats is the format. Three stops, sixty to ninety minutes at each, and a curated flight of four to six pours that the winery chooses rather than you. A charcuterie box arrives at the second stop, built to whatever dietary note you leave on the booking. Water is carried on the van.

The Tasting Fees Are the Part People Underestimate

The price covers the driving, the box lunch and the water. The pouring is separate. Each winery charges its own tasting fee of USD 20 to 35 per person, and three stops means paying it three times.

The operator says every winery on its list will waive that fee against a purchase, some for a single bottle and some for two, and that joining a winery's club usually waives it for up to four people in your party. A traveller writing in September 2025 called the fees hefty and treated buying a bottle each as the way to cancel them out. Another, in October 2024, wrote that there was no pressure to purchase at any of the stops.

Gratuities sit outside the price as well.

A Booking of Two Still Goes Out

The booking record carries no minimum-traveller cancellation clause, and the operator has said in public replies that it runs the same day for a full bus or for a single booking of two. A mother and daughter who booked midweek found they were the only two aboard, and the day went out anyway.

Travellers writing between 2022 and 2026 describe groups of two, four, five, six, eight and ten.

Door to Door, Inside a Named Box

Hotel and vacation-rental pickup is part of the price. The operator describes its area in public replies as Healdsburg down to Petaluma and Sebastopol across to Sonoma, with the towns in between. Travellers have been collected at hotels in Sonoma, at an Airbnb, at a rented cottage and at a private house.

If you are staying outside that box, the booking record says a central meeting point in Santa Rosa or a nearby town gets arranged instead. Pickups begin as early as 9:45 in the morning.

Budget five to seven hours by the operator's own description. The booking record's duration field is narrower, at five to six.

Three meeting points sit in the booking record for travellers who are not collected at a door: the train depot on Railroad Square in Santa Rosa, the sidewalk in front of the operator's office, and a city hall on a town square. The confirmation names which one applies to your day.

Full refunds run until twenty-four hours before departure. Bookings close four hours before the start time, so a same-day idea has to be an early one.

After the third winery the van returns you to the address it collected you from, which is the whole argument for handing somebody else the keys for a day.
