St. John's Law: Two Mentor Rooms, One Davis Polk Panel

The Women's Law Society works from a matched list, the LALSA hour is marked for attendance tracking, and Law Review brings in a firm.

Catch the Davis Polk panel at St. John's Law.

Tuesday at six, mentors and mentees in the dining room

The Women's Law Society opens the week by putting 2L and 3L mentors in a room with the 1Ls they were already matched to. The listing names games and getting to know one another, and says food may be provided. Nothing more structured than that.

It runs two hours in the Law School's first-floor Private Dining Room, which the school books as a seated meeting room.

The official record describes assigned pairs and says nothing about drop-ins.

Wednesday lunch hour, one hour on Big Law

The Latin American Law Students Association lists this one as a Cafecitos mentor-mentee event. The subject is Big Law, the shorthand for the largest national firms. The official description runs five words, so the event name is most of what the school records.

One hour, 1:30 to 2:30, in a second-floor classroom. It is the shortest of the three.

It is also the only one of the three the school marks as requiring attendance tracking. The listing does not say whether students outside Cafecitos can sit in.

Wednesday evening, the firm comes to the atrium

Law Review brings Davis Polk to campus. The listing says students can come learn about the firm and the opportunities it offers.

The listing invites all students to attend, which sets it apart from the two mentor sessions.

Two hours in Atrium 401, six to eight. The Cafecitos hour ends at 2:30 the same day, so Wednesday holds both.
