Three NYU Welcome Mixers to Find Your Community

Three NYU welcome mixers built around community, from a Black queer welcome to an African Students Union night and an international meet and greet.

Find your people this fall.

Kimmel Center, two welcome mixers

Brown Sugar Brilliance opens the year with a welcome night for NYU's Black queer community, folding freshmen, transfers, and upperclassmen into one room of icebreakers, free food, and giveaways. An RSVP through NYU Engage holds your spot, and the night is built for new faces to land somewhere familiar fast.

In the same building, NYU's African Students Union runs its own welcome for new and returning students, an evening of games, food, and connection across the diaspora. Come hungry and ready to talk.

John Jay, the international meet and greet

At John Jay College, the International Students Association gathers students from abroad to trade notes on housing, visas, and where to find their people, and the room is built for anyone new to the city, not only first years. Flags, food, and familiar faces once the introductions start.

Before you go

Each welcome centers its own community, and the BSB night asks for an RSVP through NYU Engage while the others run closer to walk in. The ISA meet and greet is the easiest for any international student to join. Confirm timing and access with each organizer before you head over.
