Three Loudoun Wineries, One Coach, No Designated Driver

Ride from West Falls Church Metro or Leesburg to three rotating Loudoun wineries with a guide and professional driver. Choose Explorer or Connoisseur; ages 21 and over.

Ride a coach to three Loudoun wineries.

Loudoun wine country is easier to enjoy when someone else handles the roads. Vineyard Voyages runs a guided day trip from West Falls Church Metro or Leesburg, with a professional driver and a Certified Tourism Ambassador on board.

Each date follows one of four published routes, and each route visits three wineries. Choose your date and boarding point; the route decides the lineup.

Two ticket types ride the same coach. Explorer covers the transport, guide, and three winery visits; you pay for tastings at each bar. Connoisseur adds one pre-selected tasting or flight at each stop. Lunch is separate for both.

Loudoun County 3-Winery Tour from DC Metro or LeesburgThree Loudoun County wineries with a Certified Tourism Ambassador guide, a professional driver, and an air-conditioned coach. Your Date Chooses the Three Wineries

Vineyard Voyages publishes four scheduled routes, and your date determines which one you ride:

  • Catoctin Heritage Excursion: Casanel Vineyards & Winery, Fleetwood Farm Winery, Firefly Cellars
  • Piedmont Country Journey: Good Spirit Farm, Williams Gap Vineyard, Carriage House Wineworks
  • Valley Vistas Excursion: 868 Estate Vineyards, 8 Chains North Winery, Fabbioli Cellars
  • Potomac Terroir Getaway: Tranquility Farm & Winery, Hillsborough Winery, Brewery & Vineyard, and a third stop that changes with the season

Thirteen partner wineries make four possible routes. Three routes keep a fixed trio; the fourth changes its final stop by season: Kalero Vineyard in early spring and fall, or Domaine Fortier in late spring and summer. You choose a date, not a custom lineup.

Each winery gets about ninety minutes. The second stop is the one with time to sit down and eat, while the first and third leave more time for tastings and a walk around the property. The setting depends on the trio assigned to your date.

Choose Your Boarding Point

There are two boarding points, and they create different-length days.

The coach leaves the Kiss and Ride lot at West Falls Church Metro at 10:00 AM. It reaches Market Station in Leesburg around 10:45 after roughly forty-five minutes on the road, then departs again at 11:15 for Leesburg passengers.

Board at the Metro and the tour runs about eight hours; board in Leesburg and it runs about six. Metro passengers get roughly half an hour at Market Station before departure, and South Street Under sits beneath Tuscarora Mill with coffee, pastries, and breakfast until 11:00 AM. Ordering ahead is the fastest option.

The return runs in reverse: Leesburg first at around 5:15 PM, then the Metro lot at around 6:00.

Explorer or Connoisseur: What You Pay For

Explorer is USD 119.99 per seat and covers transportation, the guide, and visits to three wineries. You buy tastings at each bar, so it suits light drinkers and anyone who would rather spend more on a bottle to take home.

Connoisseur is USD 199.99 and adds one pre-selected tasting or flight at each stop, a wine-education component, and a charcuterie cup. The operator says the cup is not lunch.

Both tickets include winery discounts and extras, but the details depend on the winery and route and are explained by your host on the day. Groups of ten or more on one reservation pay USD 114.99 or USD 194.99 per seat.

Both options sell on selected Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Connoisseur is filed as a seven-day product, so a weekday may appear in the date picker and then return unavailable at booking. Pick a weekend date. Carriage House Wineworks is open Saturdays and Sundays; Kalero is open Fridays and Sundays.

Neither ticket includes lunch. The second winery is where there is time to eat, and the offering changes by route: wood-fired flatbreads at Hillsborough, shareable boards at Fleetwood, grab-and-go food and weekend kitchen hours at 8 Chains North, or a lunch order at Williams Gap by noon.

Read These Rules Before You Go

This is a 21-and-over tour; the booking form does not offer exceptions.

  • No alcohol may be consumed on the coach. Wine bought at a winery waits until you are home.
  • There is no hotel, home, or Airbnb pickup. The coach uses two fixed boarding points.
  • The coach returns to the point where it dropped you unless your host says otherwise.
  • The route runs on winery reservations, so call as soon as you know you are behind; do not count on the coach waiting.
  • The bus is not wheelchair accessible. Trained service animals are accommodated with advance notice; emotional support animals are not.
  • Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for a full refund.
  • Tours run rain or shine. If the operator cancels for an operating or safety issue, it refunds you in full.
  • If fewer than six guests are booked, you can move to another date or apply the ticket value toward a private tour for an added fee.

One booking covers up to fifteen travelers. That is the reservation limit, not the coach capacity: the coach seats up to twenty-seven, and a smaller vehicle may run when the group is light.

Most partner wineries pour something non-alcoholic, and a few make their own beer or cider, so non-drinkers can still enjoy the day.

A Loudoun wine day is easier when the coach handles the clock, the roads, and the calls ahead. By the second stop, your only decision is whether the pour in front of you is worth a bottle to carry home.

Board at the Metro and you should be back around 6:00 PM, with your car where you left it and the evening still open.
