Thomas Straker's First U.S. Restaurant Opens in SoHo's Old Lucky Strike
Watch the wood fire from the open kitchen, then order the chilli butter mussel flatbread Straker brought over from London.
🔥 Mussel Flatbread by the Open Fire
Straker's officially opened on October 10, 2026, at 59 Grand Street, the room that held Keith McNally's Lucky Strike until 2020. It is the first Straker's in the U.S., and the open kitchen at the center of the room puts the wood fire in plain view.
Start with the mussel flatbread for 23 dollars. Straker describes it as a 48-hour cold-ferment dough baked in the wood oven with chilli butter. The langoustines with gremolata and brown butter follow at 36.
Budget for a high-end dinner. Wood-roasted fish, steak and chicken run 38 to 125 dollars before tax and drinks, and tables of six or more carry a 20 percent autogratuity. The restaurant's website takes bookings through both Resy and Dorsia, and Canal Street on the A, C and E is about a four minute walk.
