Thirty Minutes of Coaching, Then Thirty in the Mojave
A first ATV lesson in the Mojave outside Las Vegas. The training half is also a test, and failing it ends the day.
Las Vegas stops at its own edge. Past the last resort the ground turns to gravel and creosote, and the tracks across it belong to machines like the one you are about to sit on.
This hour is built for people who have never touched a quad. Half of it is coaching, and the coaching doubles as a test. New riders are taken through pylons and through left and right turns, and anyone who cannot hold a line does not go out with the group.

The clock is sixty minutes: thirty of instruction, thirty on the trail. The machines are provided and you ride one per person. Booking closes an hour before the start time, and seats are paid in full up front.

Thirty minutes go to instruction before anyone leaves the staging area. The check at the end of it is simple to describe: hold a line through pylons, turn left, turn right.
Clearing that ride is a condition of going out, and riders who cannot clear it are not refunded. All sales on this booking are final to begin with. Store credit is the furthest the operator goes, and only against documentation.
The same rule is why the trail works. Every rider ahead of you cleared the same pylons. On a first outing that counts for more than the length of the ride does.
Thirty Minutes on the Trail

The riding half runs on Mojave desert trail outside the city, reached by the operator's own shuttle from the meeting point. The listing keeps its description of the terrain short: out of Las Vegas, into the desert.
Riders move as one convoy behind the guide, at the guide's pace. Taking a machine off on your own is not part of this product, and the operator says so plainly.
The slowest rider in the group sets that pace. Janice J wrote in October 2024: "The only drawback was the slow person in front of me making everyone behind this person fall behind. However, it was the beginner class."
Each machine carries one rider. A departure holds up to fourteen, and when the minimum does not fill, the operator can move your booking to the next slot with space.
What Gets You Turned Away at Check-In
Closed-toe shoes are the rule, and the operator names what it rejects: crocs, flip flops, sandals, slides, foam runners. Bags worn over shoes are refused as well. Footwear that fails at check-in ends the booking with no refund.
Helmets stay on for the whole ride. Hair that will not fit inside one, hair that cannot come down, or head covering that cannot be removed all end participation the same way.
Bring photo identification and the card used for the reservation. Both get checked. Anyone arriving after drinking or using is refused, and that refusal carries no refund either.
Drivers need to be 18 or older. Pregnant travelers cannot take part. The operator also flags the ride as unsuited to anyone with a spinal injury or poor cardiovascular health, while rating the physical demand as manageable at any fitness level.
Booking, Group Size, and the Shuttle
Seats sell per person and cannot be split across a package. Fourteen seats is the ceiling on a departure, and the operator advises booking early against that number.
Food and drink stay off the shuttle. Eat before the pickup time.
Hotel pickup is not part of this booking. Riders make their own way to the meeting point on the Strip. A small backpack handles wallets, keys, hats and sunglasses, and the operator encourages photographs throughout.
📍 The listing gives the meeting point as Mandalay Bay, tour and travel lobby, underground beach level, 3950 South Las Vegas Boulevard. The resort's own property map words it differently. That floor is signed Beach Level, and the pickup spot is marked Shuttle & Tour Pick Up/Drop Off, south of the hotel lobby and down the escalator. Look for the resort's wording once you are inside. Pickup times move with the day's schedule, and the operator also stages some of its desert departures from a lot across the boulevard. The booking confirmation names the one that applies to you.
Parking is charged, and the ticket covers up to 24 hours at one price, so an hour on the trail costs what a full day costs.
- USD 20 Monday to Thursday, USD 25 Friday to Sunday, for anyone who is not a registered hotel guest
- No in-out privileges on that ticket
- Nevada residents get the first three hours free with a valid Nevada driver license scanned at the exit gate. Pay at a walk-up kiosk first and the free hours do not apply.
- Event days can run higher
Coming by rideshare avoids all of it. Drop-off is at the porte cochere on the main drive, and the pickup lounge is down the escalator on Beach Level, the same floor as the shuttle and tour point.
You come back to the Strip with desert dust on your boots and the rest of the day still open.
