Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audubon Center
attraction
The nation's first Audubon songbird sanctuary offers peaceful wooded trails, native gardens, and quiet birdwatching.
Description

Dating to 1923, the grounds feature native plant demonstration gardens, several small ponds, and a mile of gentle paths arranged into three parallel woodland trails that loop back to the main entrance. Benches sit throughout the woods and beside the Bessie Potter Vonnoh fountain sculpture for reading or spotting birds. Along the edge of the property, the upper path borders Youngs Memorial Cemetery, where Theodore Roosevelt's gravesite rests at the sanctuary's corner.
