Designed by architect Clarence H. Blackall in the American Colonial style, this theater's portico was salvaged from an 1830s Beacon Hill townhouse. Its compact layout keeps every seat close to the stage, a necessity before sound amplification existed. Today it hosts touring stand-up comedians and live performances.
