Description

Founded in 1968 during the civil rights era, the museum has evolved from a rented loft above a liquor store into a purpose-built home. Inside, three floors of gallery space host the permanent collection alongside rotating shows that highlight photography and experimental mediums, including sonic installations and devices. The experience climbs to a rooftop terrace level, which offers space to pause and reflect after exploring the galleries.
