America’s oldest colonial market structure still hosts seasonal open-air craft fairs under its brick columns.
Description

Built in 1745 in Philadelphia’s Society Hill neighborhood, the structure—also known as the Head House—historically functioned as a meat and provisions market where butchers operated stalls beneath its sweeping roof. Today, the preserved arcade stands as a central architectural landmark and a gathering space for community events.
