The Roads A City of Miami community
attraction
Angled off Miami's grid, this historic 1920s enclave unfolds along lush, tree-canopied parkways.
Description

Originally platted by Mary Brickell in January 1922 as "Brickell Hammock," the neighborhood was conceived as a pedestrian-friendly community centered on wide corridors and roundabouts planted with native flora. Its streets tilt roughly 45 degrees from the city's standard layout and bear the official title of "roads" rather than numbered avenues. Situated just west of Brickell and Downtown, it remains a quiet residential pocket shaped by its old historic homes.
