The Read House, Then Cherry Street: Chattanooga's 16+ Ghost Walk
A 9:00 PM walk through downtown Chattanooga for ages 16 and up, as heavy on the city's history as on its ghosts.
Ghost City Tours runs two walks through downtown Chattanooga. The all-ages walk starts at 8:00 PM; this one starts at 9:00 PM and admits no one under 16, and the operator warns of mature themes, graphic historical violence and strong language. It lasts about 90 minutes over roughly a mile.
The listing lays out seven stops, among them the Read House, the Mountain City Club, Market Street, Cherry Street and the corner where the old Lee House stood. The operator notes that not every stop is guaranteed on every night.

One booking takes up to ten travelers, and the listing asks groups of ten or more to contact the operator's group sales coordinator. Check-in is by the full name on the reservation. Gratuities are not included, and cancelling at least 24 hours ahead gets a full refund.
Cursed in Chattanooga Haunted Walking Tour9:00 PM start · About 90 minutes · Ages 16 and upwww.viator.comThe Read House Began as the Crutchfield House

The Read House stop goes back to the hotel's opening as the Crutchfield House, which Thomas Crutchfield opened in 1847, according to the listing. The operator dates the current building to 1926 and centers the stop on Room 311, where it says a woman's murder left one of the South's most violent hauntings.
Not every group goes inside the hotel. One traveler in April 2024 wrote about "walking around the lobby of The Read House," while another that August said they "would have liked to go into buildings like the read hotel."
The Lee House Stop Is a Street Corner

The listing's last stop is a street corner where the old Lee House used to stand, and it ties the house's tragedies to the Civil War. The operator's version of the place has a Confederate colonel, a grieving mother and servants it says never left their posts.
The listing says the house no longer stands, so this story is told at the corner where it was.
Market Street, Cherry Street and an 1889 Club
Between those two stops come the Mountain City Club, which the listing calls one of the oldest social clubs in the city, founded in 1889, and Market Street, possibly one of Chattanooga's oldest streets, where the guide tells the story of Liza and how she was pushed to her death. On Cherry Street the subject is witches and dark magic in the 1880s.
At that hour Cherry Street's bars are open, and a traveler in October 2024 credited the guide with not losing a single guest to them. The listing also keeps a stop for what it calls the city's bizarre architectural anomalies.
Sixteen and Up Is About Content
The age floor covers language and subject matter: the operator's content notes list graphic historical violence, true-crime detail and adult language. Its own breakdown is 45 percent history, 45 percent paranormal and 10 percent entertainment, and travelers who came only for scares have noticed the history: one in April 2024 expected "something really shocking or spooky" and wrote instead that "The guide did a great job telling the history of Chattanooga."
The listing gives each of its seven stops 12 or 13 minutes, and the operator says there are chances to sit along the way. The operator runs the walk rain or shine and does not allow guests to bring alcoholic drinks. It welcomes leashed pets, while the Viator listing mentions only service animals. The operator's page marks the walk wheelchair accessible but gives no detail on curbs or steps.
📍 Meet at the corner of East Martin Luther King Boulevard and Market Street, by the circular statue at what the listing calls Miller Park Plaza, 10 to 15 minutes before the 9:00 PM start. The operator calls downtown parking hard to find and suggests a rideshare or pedicab; the listing notes public transit nearby.
As of October 25, 2026, the listing's calendar had departures every night through November 28, 2026, and none again until March 13, 2027, while the operator describes the walk as nightly year-round.
The walk wraps up around 10:30 PM, and where it ends depends on the guide's route.
