The Photographer Comes to the Corner of Indianapolis You Name

A private photographer walks a stretch of Indianapolis with you, then sends edited frames a few days later.

Book a photographer for your corner of Indianapolis.

Travel photographs out of Indianapolis repeat themselves: the monument shot from across the street, everyone squinting into an afternoon sun. This session puts a private photographer on the other side of the lens for half an hour or a full hour, and treats the location as something to settle between you. Name a place you already want to stand in, or leave it open and wait for the message that confirms where to meet. Sessions run any day of the week, for parties of one to fifteen.

The rate is quoted per person, and it slides with the size of the party. A single traveller pays close to double the per-head rate quoted for two, and parties of three or more fall below that again. Children and infants sit well under the adult rate, and the entry price belongs to the thirty-minute morning session.

The Light Moves, the Slot List Does Not

Two windows open each day: morning slots every half hour from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and evening slots from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The evening list holds steady all year while the sun does not. Indianapolis sunset falls near 9:17 PM in late June, which puts the final slot in the light, and near 5:24 PM in late December, which leaves that same booking more than three hours after dark. Mid-April sits around 8:24 PM and mid-October around 7:06 PM. Read the slot against the month.

What Lands in Your Inbox

The half-hour session returns twenty edited photographs and the full hour returns forty-five. Both arrive as an online gallery within four to five working days, counted Monday through Friday. A Friday evening session reaches you the following week. Editing and full-resolution files are covered by the rate.

Arrive With a Place in Mind

The listing names no specific locations. It offers photogenic corners and local knowledge, then hands the choice back to you. Monument Circle sets the Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument against the downtown towers in one frame. The canal walk downtown carries water, low bridges and reflected brick.

Managed gardens are the other kind of backdrop, and they run on their own paperwork:

  • Garfield Park Conservatory requires a photo permit for any posed portrait. A photographer who is being paid puts the booking in the USD 75 an hour band, permits close two weeks ahead with no same-day exceptions, and conservatory sessions run Tuesday to Friday between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Six people total, photographer included.
  • Holliday Park and its ruins sit inside the Indy Parks system, which charges USD 30 a day for a professional shoot under a signed agreement.
  • The Garden at Newfields sells a USD 50 digital photo pass covering two named photographers and up to ten guests from one party, ordered at least three days ahead for a three-hour block. Shoots inside the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Lilly House and the Elder Greenhouse are not allowed.

None of that sits inside this booking, which covers the session and the edited files. A garden with a gate has to be settled days or weeks out, long before the morning of the shoot.

Two Deadlines, One Day Apart

Booking closes forty-eight hours ahead of the start time, and free cancellation holds until twenty-four hours ahead. The window to book shuts a full day before the window to cancel does. Confirmation comes through immediately. The session stays private, one booking takes up to fifteen travellers, adults count from thirteen, and guiding is in English.

The meeting point arrives by phone message after booking, and a location of your own can go in at that stage. On Viator it carries five stars from a single review so far. Pick the hour that matches the month, name the corner you want, and let someone else hold the camera.
