Description

Run by the Sczurek family across three generations, the Chicagoland operation stems from 1972, when Uncle Joe opened the first local outpost in Hyde Park following recipes from the original 1953 Portland founding. In the kitchen, sauces and syrups are prepared from scratch daily, supporting distinct oven-baked centerpieces: a single large Apple Pancake smothered with sautéed apples and cinnamon sugar baked into a rich glaze, and an air-filled Dutch Baby served with lemon, whipped butter, and powdered sugar.
