Opening in March 2001 with deli-style sandwiches and salads, the counter eventually expanded past standard deli fare into the broader barbecue and seafood menu it turns out today. Over more than two decades in the Fifth Ward, it has cultivated a loyal crowd of educators, government workers, and patrons traveling from as far as Katy and The Woodlands, backed by ongoing support for local schools, churches, and neighborhood organizations.
