Commissioned by post-Revolutionary sea merchant and privateer Joshua Ward, the property was designed by 18th-century architect Samuel McIntire. Set in downtown Salem yet positioned for privacy, the lodging pairs historic preservation with modern comfort. Generously sized rooms retain much of their original woodwork and architectural detail, updated with amenities like heated bathroom floors and gas fireplaces.
