The Manor House
4.7 (49)restaurant
A John Staub-designed 1955 estate at The Houstonian, serving Gulf Coast Creole cuisine in a former presidential home.
Description

Once the residence of George H.W. and Barbara Bush during his time as CIA director and vice president, the estate later hosted world leaders for the 1990 G-7 Economic Summit, with negotiations and treaty signings held in its Botanical room. Inside, the layout preserves an intimate architectural character with three dining rooms, two fireplaces, and a dedicated reception bar. Along the back, a wall of windows opens toward the event lawn, looking out on seasonal azaleas, strings of lights, and a fire pit ringed with Adirondack chairs.
