Description

Dedicated in 1959 after a donation from the Garden Club of America, the site was inspired by George Washington's expressed interest in magnolias. Enclosed by wrought iron fences and gates, the grounds pair northern-climate saucer magnolias with Narcissus Snow Azaleas, English Oak, Honey Locusts, and cotoneasters set over an English ivy ground cover. Tucked along Locust Street, it serves as a secluded neighborhood oasis that draws particular notice when the trees break into early spring bloom.
