Description

Designed by artists Jesus, Mary Lynn, and Amy Dominguez along La Mesa Boulevard, the site weaves milestone imagery with dates from 1912 to 2012 integrated into mosaic patterns, decoded by a stainless plaque. Beneath a Centennial logo in a concrete vault rests a buried time capsule, set alongside donor recognition bricks. Grounding the setting with a lighter touch, the bronze figure of Felix the Helix commemorates the local discovery of the snail species Helix aspersa, shaped safely for children to climb aboard.
