🎸 On the bill

Churchill's Pub opened in 1979 as a British-style bar in Little Haiti, and it became the launch pad for Miami's punk and underground rock scene. A portrait of Winston Churchill watches over the corner room, a Union Jack hangs above the bar, and hundreds of local bands have cut their first sets on its two stages. The pub grub, the worn wooden bar, and the graffiti-covered walls have barely changed in decades.

Most nights bring live music, from touring punk acts to local metal and indie, split between the indoor stage and the open-air stage in the back garden. The room runs loud and unpretentious, drawing regulars, first-time bands, and record collectors. It sits on NE 2nd Avenue in Little Haiti, a short drive from the bars of Wynwood and the theater row downtown.
