The LA Stadium Hosting Its Third Olympic Games
See the flame column crown a WWI-memorial arena that has hosted the city's Olympic Games.
🔥 The torch overhead
The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum anchors Exposition Park as a WWI memorial and one of the country's storied open-air arenas. Its peristyle arch carries the flame-displaying column that crowns Olympic ceremonies, and the cauldron has been lit for the city's Summer Games twice with a third turn ahead.
Beyond the torch, the bowl fills for USC Trojans football, and the same field has held concert tours, soccer matches, and large music festivals. On event nights the arches frame the open peristyle end and the skyline beyond, a view unique to this arena.
Outside the gates, Exposition Park's museum walking paths, neighborhood dining, and the adjacent university campus fill an afternoon. Guided stadium tours run Monday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
