The Hughes Brothers' Christmas Show in Branson, Where Santa Tells the Story

The Hughes brothers and their families sing, dance and play violin, and Santa takes a turn explaining the symbols of Christmas.

The Hughes Brothers Christmas Show fills the holiday calendar at the theater that carries the family name in Branson. The brothers share the stage with their families, and reviews from the 2025 season keep pointing at the youngest performers, toddlers included.

Plan for two moods in one sitting. Reviewers describe a first half of harmonies, dancing, violins and comedy, and a second half that turns to the Christmas story, told by Santa.

As of October 27, 2026, the booking calendar runs from November 2, 2026 to January 1, 2027, Monday through Saturday. Showtimes are 10:00 AM, 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM, with one or two of them on most days and all three on Saturday, November 14. Mondays are 2:00 PM only, the 10:00 AM matinees end on December 2, and Christmas Day and New Year's Day each get an 8:00 PM show. Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve are not on this calendar.

Children 12 and under go free on this booking. Adults start at USD 50. Cancel at least 24 hours before showtime for a full refund; inside 24 hours there is no refund.

When Santa Stops to Explain Christmas

The theater's own description saves its biggest claim for one scene: Santa explaining the symbols of Christmas. Reviewers name the story he tells, Teach the Children, and a November 2025 review says it shifts the focus to the birth of Jesus as the reason for the season.

This is a faith-forward show, and the second half says so openly. Several 2025 reviewers called it the high point of the night, and a December 2025 review described the evening as a mix of secular and religious Christmas entertainment. Anyone expecting a purely secular holiday show should plan for a slower, more reflective second half; one November 2025 reviewer's party found it preachy and left before the end.

The Family Also Works the Lobby

The cast reads like a family tree. Reviews from the 2025 season mention children and grandchildren performing, toddlers in the lineup and the brothers' tight harmonies holding it together. One December 2025 reviewer found the family well beyond the stage too, at the concession stand, at the seating and in the procession.

Repeat visits run through the reviews: one family has come for more than ten years, another every year for five. Returning visitors should expect a familiar pre-show, which one longtime fan said had barely changed in more than 20 years, and a merchandise pitch that a November 2025 reviewer felt went too far.

Trade the Voucher for Tickets at the Box Office

The booking includes a ticket and an assigned seat. The voucher is not the ticket; the box office swaps it for one. It can be shown on a phone or printed. The theater lists box office hours as Monday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

The listing marks the theater wheelchair accessible and says service animals are allowed. The theater's own pages do not cover access, and the box office at 417-334-0076 is the place to arrange a seat that works.

Dinner Is Separate, and Only Before the 8:00 PM Show

This booking covers the show and nothing else. For the 8:00 PM performances, the theater sells a candlelight dinner beforehand: a garden salad, pork loin with a balsamic reduction, herb-roasted chicken with ratatouille, green beans, roasted potatoes and a roll, then chocolate mousse with berries. Children 12 and under get chicken strips with the same sides.

Dinner is sold by the theater, separately from this booking.

📍 The Hughes Brothers Theatre is at 3425 West 76 Country Boulevard in Branson, and its box office is where the voucher turns into a ticket. The theater's phone lines are 417-334-0076 and 800-422-0076.

The theater's calendar blocks two hours per show, so a 2:00 PM matinee lets out around 4:00 PM and an 8:00 PM show around 10:00 PM.

For those two hours the stage belongs to one family and its Christmas.
