Ninety Minutes on an Old Rail Line

The High Line was an elevated rail line, shut down in 1980 and later saved from demolition by local residents. Today it is a 1.45-mile park. The guide covers its history, the planting and the public art along the way.

Lunch Starts Around 12:45 PM

Food begins around 12:45 PM in Greenwich Village, and the listing suggests a light breakfast to carry you through the morning walk. The operator's page promises food and drink at five spots, from New York pizza to an old-school butcher shop.

The listing does not name the stops. Travelers from 2024 to 2026 name Bleecker Street Pizza, and a January 2025 review lists a British pasty, French pastries and a chicken masala taco. One traveler in October 2024 counted two desserts and not much sitting down to eat.

Four Hours on Foot, Rain or Shine

The operator puts the full route at about two miles and calls the pace slow and comfortable. The listing asks for at least a moderate level of fitness. It runs every day, in any weather. Dress for the forecast.

The operator's terms warn that routes can include stairs, uneven pavement, curb crossings and indoor spaces that are not fully wheelchair accessible. Guests with mobility concerns are asked to get in touch before booking. Children are welcome by the operator's account, and the listing charges every traveler the same per-person price. Only service animals can come along.

Vegetarian Is the One Swap

A vegetarian option is available when requested at booking, and the listing says no other diet can be accommodated. It names vegan, kosher, nut allergies, dairy-free and gluten-free. The operator's website terms say guests with other restrictions may still join, but should expect fewer tastings rather than substitute dishes.

The listing caps a shared group at eight travelers, and the operator describes its tours as eight people or fewer. The listing also notes a minimum of two people per booking. The operator's page says a departure needs two guests to open, after which solo travelers can join, and asks solo travelers who cannot book to email or call.

📍 The group meets at the High Line's elevator entrance on West 30th Street, between Tenth and Eleventh Avenues, at 10:30 AM. The exact meeting address arrives in the confirmation email.

Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for a full refund. Inside 24 hours there is no refund. The listing also warns that a departure can be cancelled after confirmation if too few people book, with an alternative or a full refund offered.

The walk finishes at Sixth Avenue and West 3rd Street, with the rest of the afternoon free in the Village.
