The Grolier Club

Named for Renaissance collector Jean Grolier, who was known for sharing his library with friends, the society was established in 1884 to foster the study and craft of works on paper. Programming extends to lectures, publications, and a research library alongside thoughtfully curated, focused shows. Over the years, displays have ranged from literary figures like Jane Austen and Walt Whitman to topics like Sherlock Holmes, train history, and vintage animated advertising, all set within an intimate, old-school architectural environment
