4.6 (20)attraction
A Boston Public Garden fountain centered on a gilded bronze angel by Lincoln Memorial sculptor Daniel Chester French.
Description

Dedicated in 1924 in the northwest corner of the Boston Public Garden, the monument paired French with Lincoln Memorial architect Henry Bacon. An architectural granite screen frames the gilded bronze relief representing the Spirit of Discovery, set above a pebble-surface basin with restored historic plumbing. Known locally as The Angel, the site stands as a park symbol and a draw for quiet contemplation.
