The Funhouse (1981)

Tobe Hooper’s 1981 horror film invites viewers into a macabre carnival where a group of teenagers becomes trapped inside a funhouse. This midnite screening leans into the slasher’s original, unsettling atmosphere, trading daylight for the isolation of a late-night theater setting. The film plays out as a classic genre exercise, focusing on the dark, mechanical oddities of a traveling showground rather than the typical suburban haunts of the era.
