The Chelsea Canvas Circuit for Curious After-Work Eyes
Begin with global contemporary voices on 17th Street, step into museum-scale work on 21st, then finish in an intimate 26th Street salon. The south-to-north sequence keeps the three venues walkable before their Friday 6 PM closes.
Three Stops, South to North
Global Voices First
Start at Ethan Cohen Gallery on West 17th Street. The program bridges Chinese Avant-Garde work with contemporary African art in a welcoming room. Friday hours run from 11 AM to 6 PM, giving this southern stop the widest lead-in before walking north.

Midpoint in High Volume
Continue four blocks to Gagosian on West 21st Street. Its soaring, light-filled setting supports monumental works across two large rooms. Use this middle visit for scale, then keep the pace to about 15 to 45 minutes. Friday hours end at 6 PM.

Salon Finish by Six
End at Montague Contemporary on West 26th Street, an intimate salon focused on artists from Africa and its diaspora. Painting, sculpture, ceramics, and photography bring a warm final change of texture. The gallery is open Friday from 11 AM to 6 PM, with private viewings available by appointment.
