The Cave Store

At street level, the wood-shingled building operates as a beachfront shop stocked with jewelry, watercolor paintings, and snorkel gear. From within the store, visitors set off on a self-guided tour down through the sandstone cliffs of La Jolla Cove, following a man-made wooden staircase into the only land-accessible sea cave in California. The route takes about five minutes of self-paced stair climbing each way.
