Description
Officially known as Sather Tower, the UC Berkeley centerpiece rises 307 feet as the second-tallest freestanding clock and bell tower in the world and remains visible for miles. Reaching the observation platform requires an elevator and 38 stairs. At ground level, visitors lounge on the historic esplanade in the shade of the stone tower, catching three daily carillon concerts scheduled at 7:50am, 12:00pm, and 6:00pm.
