Description

Great Britain presented the bell in 1976 for the 200th anniversary of American Independence, dedicated by Queen Elizabeth II. Measuring nearly seven feet in diameter, the bronze bell spent decades residing in a visitor center tower. In 2013, it was relocated and placed on public display for the first time within the rehabilitated Benjamin Rush Garden at 3rd and Walnut Streets.
