Description

Constructed in Sacramenia between 1133 and 1141 AD, the Cloister of the Monastery of Saint Bernard de Clairvaux was purchased in the 1920s by newspaper tycoon William Randolph Hearst, who had its masonry numbered for shipment. Following years in storage, the medieval architecture was reassembled beside gardens. Today the complex operates as a museum and an active church parish, hosting historic tours and weddings within its peaceful grounds.
