Thatcher Woods - Picnic Grove #1

Set along the Des Plaines River, the preserve combines floodplain forest, prairie, and oak savannas anchored by a dedicated 100-person picnic grove. A network of primitive walking trails connects to the Trailside Museum of Natural History, leading out through varied plant communities and active bird habitats.
