Texas Buckeye Trail
3.9 (16)park
A Great Trinity Forest trail winding through native arbors to river views and a stand of spring-blooming buckeye trees.
Description

Starting from the Bexar Street trailhead, the natural trail is cared for by the North Texas Master Naturalists, with turns and branch-built arbors, though footpaths can be occasionally overgrown or muddy. The buckeyes bloom white in spring, but the park also includes a second route: an approximately one-mile concrete trail leads to an overlook to the west, shaded beneath an old-growth tree canopy with large boulder seating areas and signage directing hikers to the river.
