Temescal Canyon Trailhead
4.7 (79)park
This Pacific Palisades trail winds through shady sycamore canyons before opening onto sweeping ocean views.
Description

Encompassing 141 acres of oak canyons and ridgetop views, Temescal Gateway Park provides access to miles of trails in Topanga State Park, Will Rogers State Historic Park, and the 20,000-acre “Big Wild.” The land was developed for the Methodist Church in 1922 by the Reverend Dr. Charles Holmes Scott as a West Coast center for the Chautauqua movement. Beyond the hiking routes, the grounds hold picnic areas, grassy meadows, and historic halls such as Elizabeth Cheadle Hall.
