Tashkent Park
4.0 (141)park
A quiet Capitol Hill pocket park born from Cold War diplomacy, featuring peace tiles crafted by Soviet schoolchildren.
Description

Set along Boylston Avenue East, the park commemorates Seattle’s partnership with Tashkent, Uzbekistan, forged during the Cold War as a sister-city pact. Its focal point is a collection of decorative tiles inscribed with “Peace” in both English and Cyrillic, giving an international diplomatic gesture a tangible, handmade scale.
While visitors note occasional maintenance issues over time, the space remains a quiet, pleasant pause within the dense Capitol Hill streetscape.
