Description

Mature trees, including blooming Royal Poinciana, canopy the grounds and soften the Miami heat across the open lawn. On the walking path, four laps add up to roughly a mile, providing a steady circuit alongside green space open for casual soccer or flag football. The covered red-and-white playground incorporates wheelchair-accessible swings and climbing obstacles, ringed by benches for easy supervision. Its moniker nods to the historic 1928 highway that connected Florida's east and west coasts straight through the Everglades.
