Take Off From the Deck, Float Above Destin's Emerald Water

A shared Pelican Adventures boat out of Destin Harbor, a seated launch from the back deck and about ten minutes up on the line.

Pelican Adventures runs this flight from its office at 580 Harbor Boulevard on Destin Harbor. The operator says its parasail boat is certified for up to twelve passengers, and everyone rides out together. Plan on about 90 minutes on the water for roughly ten minutes in the air, since each group flies in turn while the rest watch from the deck.

Takeoff and landing happen from a seated position on the back deck, so the start and finish stay dry. Travelers keep coming back to one word for the time up top: peaceful.

One seat covers one flyer on a shared boat, with the captain, crew and safety gear included. As of October 27, 2026, the booking calendar prices most remaining 2026 dates at USD 85 a person, and Thanksgiving week and December 19 to 31 at USD 97.

Gratuities and the on-site parking fee are extra. The crew also sells photo and video packages during the trip.

Who Shares Your Harness Gets Decided That Day

The listing sets the weight rules out plainly. Each flight needs 250 to 450 pounds combined, with nobody over 350. That floor is why a single booking usually flies beside another guest; the listing says solo flyers are welcome and will be paired.

Flying alone is the captain's call. In its replies to reviewers, the operator says solo flights cannot be guaranteed in advance and that the decision rests on that day's conditions and weights. One traveler at 250 pounds wrote that the captain sent him up alone because of the wind. Another, who booked by herself, flew with a stranger and recommended it.

The same floor shapes family plans. Two children who weigh less than 250 pounds between them sit below the combined minimum, so work out who flies with whom before you book.

Most of the Trip Happens on Deck

With one group in the air at a time, most of the 90 minutes is spent on the boat watching the others go up. Travelers mention music playing while they waited, and several saw dolphins on the way out or back. The operator adds rays and even sharks to what you might spot. None of it is promised.

The dip is optional. Tell the crew if you want your feet in the water, and stay dry if you would rather not. Travelers who tried it tend to recommend it, and one suggests packing a towel and water.

A couple of travelers felt seasick while waiting on deck, so anyone prone to it should plan around the full time on the water.

Age, Weight and a Waiver You Read on Camera

Flyers must be at least 6 years old and 50 pounds, and anyone riding along without flying must be at least 3 and 30 pounds. Pregnant women are not allowed on board, and alcohol or drugs before or during the trip are off limits. The listing also says the flight is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health.

This booking sells flyer seats only, and its age bands start at 6. The operator says non-flyers can come along for a small fee when there is space, so ask before the day if a younger child or a non-flyer is joining.

Every person boarding needs a waiver, and anyone 17 or under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who also completes the minor's waiver. The online waiver records you reading the disclaimer aloud, so it needs a device with a working front camera and microphone. The operator says guests without audio and video can sign at check-in instead.

Check-In Is the Deadline That Counts

📍 Check in at 580 Harbor Boulevard. The listing asks for 30 to 45 minutes before departure, and in its 2025 and 2026 replies to reviewers the operator describes a 45-minute check-in. Travelers who arrived after check-in, some only five or ten minutes late, say they lost the trip and the money. The operator's replies say late arrivals fall under the cancellation policy.

Parking has its own rules. The listing points to free parking at 106 Benning Drive while you are out, and to paid permit parking on site at 580 Harbor Boulevard, with the permit handed out at check-in. It also warns that cars left at Sexton's Seafood Market get towed.

As of October 27, 2026, the booking calendar shows trips every day through October 31, then Wednesdays and Saturdays only in November and December, apart from daily trips November 21 to 29 and December 19 to 31. Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day show no seats, and nothing is listed from January 1 until March 8, 2027.

Cancel at least 24 hours ahead for a full refund; inside that window nothing comes back. The listing marks the trip as weather-dependent, with a refund when weather cancels it.

Gratuities are on you, and travelers who praise the crew often mention tipping them. Up top, the boat noise fades and the Destin shoreline opens out below.
