Take an E-Bike Into Garden of the Gods and Pick Your Own Stops

A rented e-bike for Garden of the Gods, the free city park given to Colorado Springs in 1909, with paved bike lanes on its roads.

Manitou E-Bike Co, selling this rental under its former name, E-Bike Sales and Rental, gets you rolling: a run-through of the bike at the shop, directions, and a short escort until you are on your way to Garden of the Gods. Inside the park, nobody leads. You choose the turns and the stops.

As of October 30, 2026, rentals on the listing below start at USD 79 per rider, with hourly start times from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Tuesday through Sunday; there are no Monday rentals. Booking closes an hour before the start and confirms instantly, and one booking covers up to eight riders.

A Lesson at the Shop, an Escort, Then the Park

The bikes are Class 2: pedal assist plus a throttle, with the motor's help stopping at 20 mph. The throttle moves the bike without pedaling, though it drains the battery faster. Staff walk you through the controls before you leave and ride a short way with you so you find the park.

Each bike carries a helmet, a storage bag on the rear rack, a lock for when you want to walk, a phone mount and a map of Garden of the Gods. Bring your own water, plus sunglasses: wind on the bike can irritate your eyes. One rider in August 2026 had a tire run low partway through, called for a replacement, and wrote that a new bike was dropped off about 15 minutes later.

The Park's Roads Are the Route

Inside Garden of the Gods, bicycles, e-bikes included, are allowed in the bike lanes on all park roads, under state traffic rules for bicycles. E-bikes are banned from every dirt trail in the park, and the only trails open to e-bikes at all (Foothills, Gateway and Palmer Mesa) are for Class 1 models, so these Class 2 rentals stay on the roads. Rental bikes are kept off unpaved trails as well, and the park's 20 mph speed limit covers bikes.

The Garden Drive and Juniper Way loop runs about 6 miles, with some hills as steep as a 15% grade, and the park sits at 6,400 feet. The roads pass Balanced Rock, and the lock lets you leave the bike for a walk. Entry to the park is free. One rider in September 2026 reported seeing bighorn sheep and mule deer in the park; the park's bike rules ask riders to give wildlife a chance to move away.

Who Can Ride, and What to Ask About Kids

Riders need to be 14 or older, and the booking form asks for each rider's height and weight. The booking listing marks the ride as needing at least a moderate level of physical fitness and as not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health. The operator's own test is confidence on a regular bike: an e-bike may not be the right fit for anyone who doesn't feel confident on one.

Tickets on this listing are sold only for riders aged 14 to 80. The listing includes child seats and a pull-behind trailer, and the operator advertises family e-bikes for children up to 75 pounds, but neither says how to book a younger passenger or whether it costs extra, so ask the operator before you book. The listing also marks service animals as allowed.

Finding the Shop, and the Park's Hours

📍 Check-in is at the shop at 3103 W. Colorado Ave. in Colorado Springs. The shop moved there in early 2026, so skip the older Manitou Avenue address that still turns up online. Parking at the start is free, per the booking listing, and by the operator's count the park is about a six-minute ride away.

Garden of the Gods is open from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM between November and April, and until 10:00 PM from May through October. A rider who went in March 2024 found snow still on the ground and called the white snow against the red rocks and green pines breathtaking.

Booked through this listing, the rental can be canceled for a full refund up to 24 hours before the start; inside 24 hours, nothing is refunded. The operator may also cancel and refund if the weather turns unsuitable.

The two hours include the shop briefing and the ride toward the park; after that, the red rock and open road are yours at your own pace.
