Taft McWhorter Art

Set inside Winter Street Studios west of downtown Houston, the space serves as the private studio and gallery of contemporary artist Taft McWhorter and his wife, Dana. Operating for two decades, McWhorter produces large-scale works using acrylics, epoxy resin, oil, latex, and watercolor, drawing influences from Franz Kline and Jackson Pollock. Alongside his paintings, the space displays metal sculptures like the H-Town series. Taft and Dana also tie their work to local philanthropy, having raised over a million dollars through donated pieces while maintaining a welcoming studio atmosphere.
