SWC Art Gallery
5.0 (2)gallery
A campus gallery with rotating contemporary art and Bruce Nauman's 1968 conceptual sculpture 'Dark' in the courtyard.
Description
Completed in 1969, the 2,135-square-foot space was modeled after the Breuer-designed Whitney Museum of Art in New York City. The interior features 11-foot-high walls, in-floor electrical outlets, and a suspended modular grid ceiling fitted with movable walls and inset tracks for lighting.
Throughout the academic year, the gallery presents work by professional contemporary artists alongside faculty and juried student shows. Exhibitions are regularly supported by accompanying artist talks, workshops, and performances.
