Sunset Over Sister Bay, With Live Music on Deck
The departure hour on this cruise is not fixed. Sister Bay Scenic Boat Tours sets it by the sunset, so it drifts across the season, and the operator says the route changes from evening to evening to find the best of the light. Live music plays on deck while it happens.
Book this one and the hour you get in July is not the hour you get in October. Sister Bay Scenic Boat Tours times the Sunset Live Music Cruise to the sun itself, so the departure drifts across the season. The operator gives the window as 4pm to 7pm, and says the sunset trips begin leaving earlier from the end of July, as the light goes sooner.
The route drifts as well. The company's own description says it varies by day to find the best view of the sunset, so the water you cover is a decision somebody makes that evening. The line-up is not fixed either. Travellers across recent seasons describe a single singer on some evenings and a two-person act on others.

Departures leave from the Sister Bay Marina at 10707 N. Bay Shore Drive. The listing tells you to come to the ticket office directly in front of the boat you are sailing on. The operator asks you not to walk into the Marina office, which does not handle bookings for the boat.
The listing sells the trip as ninety minutes. The operator's own page gives the length as an hour and a half to an hour and three quarters. Hold an hour and three quarters open and the evening fits either way.
Boat Cruise- Sunset Live Music CruiseNinety minutes on Green Bay out of Sister Bay, with live music on deck and a bar on board. The departure time is set by the sunset. Snacks and drinks are sold separately.www.viator.comThe Whole Route Is Seen From the Water

The boat does not tie up anywhere. Every place the listing names is passed from the water. That is the trade. You get a stretch of shoreline that no road reaches, and no time ashore at any of it.
The listed run takes in Sister Bay, then the shoreline and islands of Peninsula State Park, then the village of Ephraim, whose heritage the operator describes as a blend of Moravian and Norwegian. The golf course along the park's shore gets named too. It opened with six holes in 1917, reached nine in 1923, and stretched to eighteen by 1931.
Because the route is picked for the light, read that list as where the boat tends to go on a given evening.
Two Decks, and a Bar Between Them

The Norra Dorr is a custom catamaran built in 2017, and its two decks are two different evenings. The top is an open sun deck. The operator describes the lower one as fully enclosed and built to keep passengers comfortable in any weather, which is the part that counts once the October sailings move to 4:45pm and the wind comes across the bay. The operator's own packing note asks for a light jacket or sweater for cool Door County evenings, and travellers who sat up top put it more bluntly than that.
Water is the only drink you can carry aboard. Other carry-on beverages are not allowed, and food and snacks are welcome. Snacks and drinks are sold on board and sit outside the ticket price. There is a bar aboard. The company calls it a full bar and describes itself as the only boat tour in Door County with one. That line is the company's own. Gratuity is listed as optional.
Two things follow. Bring a card for the bar. And if you were going to carry a bottle down to the dock, leave it in the car.
Boarding, Access, and the Refund Line
The operator asks you to arrive twenty minutes before departure. That instruction sits on the company's own page. The listing gives no arrival time at all, so twenty minutes is the number to work with. One traveller wrote in August 2025: "Get there early for check in. Boarding is done from first check in to last." On a boat whose best seats are on the open top deck, that order decides your evening.
There is no lot of the operator's own. The company points at the public lot marked with a blue P on its parking map, and says the dock sits within walking distance of most of the downtown businesses and hotels. One traveller found it easy to park near on an ordinary evening. Another, arriving at 7pm during a village festival, called the parking absolutely miserable.
- One booking covers up to 30 travellers, and an adult has to be on it.
- The listing marks the cruise wheelchair accessible, and the operator's own page says the same.
- The listing allows service animals. The operator's site goes further and calls the business dog friendly. The two do not match, and the listing is the narrower of them.
- Cancel at least 24 hours ahead for a full refund. Inside 24 hours the listing refunds nothing.
- Bad weather or too few bookings can call off a sailing. The operator says it will text or call you to cancel or move the reservation, so keep your phone to hand that afternoon.
- Tickets are issued one per booking, and a mobile or paper ticket is accepted.
When You Go Changes What You Get
Departure time shifts with the calendar, so the month decides your evening.
- Through 18 October the booking calendar runs Monday to Saturday, with sailings at 4:45pm and 5:00pm.
- In July and August it loads Monday to Thursday, between 6:00pm and 7:00pm.
- September sits between the two, Monday to Friday, from 5:00pm to 6:00pm.
No season on the booking calendar carries a Sunday, and the operator's own cruise page sets the schedule at Monday to Saturday. The word nightly turns up on the operator's home page as a one-line feature with no days attached to it. Plan a Monday to Saturday week, and let the date you open in the calendar confirm the sailing. In July and August the calendar runs narrower still than the operator's Monday to Saturday.
The cruise ends where it started, back at the Sister Bay Marina. The last of the shoreline comes past with the colour gone off it, and the boat sets you down on a dock in the middle of the village with the evening still ahead of you.
