Sunset is 4:52 pm on November 1, 4:28 pm on December 6, 4:36 pm on December 29. Arrive fifteen minutes early and leave when the sun drops behind the skyline.

🧭 Five minutes from water to door

From the east-shore track, walk out to Fifth Avenue and cross to the museum between 88th and 89th: about 300 metres, five minutes on foot. Leave when the sun touches the skyline and you are inside five minutes later, with half an hour on the earliest dates and closer to fifty by mid-December. December 28, a Monday, and December 30, a Wednesday, move pay-what-you-wish to 5-6:30 pm, which leaves time to watch the afterglow before you go in.
